What are U up to today? Wednesday Post

Here's a teaser for todays "What are U up to today?" post

I'm working on samples for a class proposal for 2012. My table is a huge mess right now, but I can only show you a wee tiny bit of what I'm working on.   I wish I could show you the finished products, but I have to wait to see if they are accepted or not.  I've finally finished them, and tomorrow have to take the photos, write up the proposals and send them off. That takes me as long as actually creating the samples. I'm looking forward to hitting that send button, so I can check one more thing off my to do list tomorrow.

So, What are you up to today?

Even though I'm behind on my own review of the book, there is a fantastic review AND a giveaway from Tonia Davenport over on Create Mixed Media blog.

Tonia is giving away two sets of prizes, each include this wonderful book, ICE resin and some bezels to get you started.  To win all you have to do is leave a comment on the blog post and tell what material/product you've been curious about but have been afraid to try.  Be sure to leave your comment  by Sunday, April 3 at 11:59 pm (EST). The winners will be announced on Monday, April 4.
So what are you waiting for?? Go over and leave a comment, good luck!

What are U up to today? Wednesdays and Spring Cleaning Sale

My friend Jen Osborn had a brilliant idea last week called "What are U up to today?   The idea is that we can connect and learn more about each other by posting a photo of what we are working on today without having to commit to phone time.

What I'm doing today - dealing with an Amazon return.....so annoying.  I ordered some clear epoxy but that's not what I got.   I got 'translucent yellow", not what I wanted or can use.    So annoying since the packing is a different color and the packing slip CLEARLY says CLEAR in big bold letters on it....  I rarely have problems with Amazon and when I do its when it's an Amazon Merchant (like this)  Sigh....Really shouldn't complain, its only the 2nd time I've had a problem with Amazon and I've been buying thru them for years.... Just annoying when you planned on doing stuff with said epoxy the minute it arrived....  I usually get DevCon epoxy when I'm at a hardware store or order through Monsterslayer when I'm buying supplies.

While dealing with the Amazon return stuff,  I'm also cooking chicken for tamales. Oh, it smells SOOOO GOOD!!!  I'm going to do some vegetarian ones as well.  I'll do the wrapping and steaming tomorrow and then NOM NOM NOM!!  My BFF is coming over for lunch on Friday to help me eat some, and is very excited.

I was also very productive  this weekend. I finally got a newsletter out to all my subscribers.  I am doing a bit of spring cleaning on the website with a Spring Cleaning Super Sale.  I was a jewelry making machine last spring and summer, getting ready for shows and building up inventory. I didn't get to do any shows in the fall because of "life", so have alot left over.  I want to get clean out and start to make new stuff for this year.   I'm also adding stuff to my Etsy Shop as well, want to clean out things I don't use to make room for more things I do use. I've got a lot of things to put up, and trying to do a few every couple of days.

Still Treading Mud, But Moving Forward.

Hard to believe its been over a month since I blogged-bad girl!  Tucson was a total blast.  Even though I got the flu the day I flew out (yes i got the flu AGAIN)  I loved talking to people about ICE Resin® and showing them the fun they could have with Susan Lenart Kazmer's bezels.   I taught ICE Resin® classes everyday and it was fabulous.  I got a couple days off before coming home and had fun walking thru the Electric Park show oogling all the fossils and minerals I wish I could have brought home with me.

I had good intentions on blogging all about my Tucson trip, but as the saying goes "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions".  As usual since moving here, all kinds of stuff happened.  Treading thru mud seems like an appropriate euphemism in regards to my life right now.  I knew it wouldnt be easy, but it wasn't supposed to be THIS difficult.

I've decided that while it seemed like a good idea at the time,  living in this little town just isn't for me. I don't fit and can't get into the 'flow' here. Rather than a square peg in a round hole I feel like hexagonal peg in a board with no holes. It's time for plan B. which is moving up to Pittsburgh within the next couple of months. So now that I've just unpacked, I'll start repacking this weekend and looking for a place to live.  Onward and hopefully upward.

I'm happy that my creative muse has returned.  The past week, I have been making jewelry-woo hoo!  I've been working on necklaces and pendants for one of my wholesale accounts. While unpacking my work space, I came across a lot of jewelry and supplies I forgot I had, so I'm working on having a big spring cleaning sale soon.

Other big news: my good friend Jen Cushman has just published her book on working with ICE Resin®, called "Explore, Create, RESINATE".  I'll being doing a review of this wonderful book this week. If you've wanted to try resin but have been hesitant then this book is definitely one you'll want to get.
